Description
Milo is an excellent example of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Breed. He avoided a heart murmur as a puppy and has had virtually no health problems between the ages of 0-7. He has had no health problems as a puppy and he has had no obvious health problems typical of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in his younger years.
He has develiped minor issues with dry eyes at age seven and has developed an adult heart murmur, at grade two. He is an energetic boy, exceptionally so for the breed. He is lively, a little loud and is a larger Spaniel energy-wise in a smaller package. I have kept him intact with the desire to potentially breed him should he not display any prominent ailments typical of the Cavalier breed.
He has not been studded as a younger dog, I have been apprehensive due to the issues the breed faces and have not desired to allow him to sire pups if he did not display above average health for a Cavalier.
If a loud, proud and abnormally energetic Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is what you're looking for, Milo is your man.
(Note: I am hoping to bring some healthy DNA to the breed and will not allow Milo to breed with any young dog that may produce sickly offspring. Cavaliers are a very sickly breed due to poor breeding health. If you're similarly concerned about selecting for a healthier pedigree/cross breed and your dog is younger, please get them DNA tested.)
